The Outward Mindset
in Education


In Levels 100 and 200 of this education-focused workshop, participants explore the fundamental mindsets that drive behavior in educational institutions and systems. They discover where they have been operating from an inward mindset and how to turn more outward. They learn how to become more effective in their work by applying the following tool sets:

Glasses Self-awareness tools—Four tools to overcome a self-focused inward mindset and more consistently work with an others-inclusive outward mindset.
Arrow Mindset change tools—Two tools to implement and sustain an outward mindset.
Pencil Accountability tools—Three accountability tools to help individuals clarify their roles and hold themselves accountable for their impact on others.
Cycle Collaboration tools—Eight collaboration tools to help individuals and teams plan, work, and resolve differences more collaboratively and effectively.

In Level 300—Teaching with an Outward Mindset—participants apply the outward mindset tools to their work as educators. While this final segment of the training is most applicable to educators, we recommend that administrators attend this session where possible.

Results and Outcomes

This is an interactive, two-day course that allows participants to thoroughly explore and internalize key concepts around individual and organizational mindset and behavior change. It is punctuated by videos, individual and group exercises, and application of implementation tools to participants’ on-the-job situations. We tailor delivery to meet your needs and focus on your organization’s goals and challenges.

This program includes content for three 4- to 6-hour sessions. The first day (Level 100) is weighted more heavily toward learning core concepts, while the second (Level 200) focuses more heavily on immediate and practical application. The final four-hour segment (Level 300) can be delivered separately and focuses on outward mindset applications for educators in the classroom.
