Arbinger’s CORE in Law Enforcement
Arbinger’s CORE in Law Enforcement methodologies have been presented at several agencies in Kansas City and its surrounding areas. Local TV Station, Fox 14, captured one of the Arbinger CORE classes being conducted at the Jasper County Missouri Sheriff’s Office led by Jack Colwell, Director of Law Enforcement, EMS and Corrections Services for Arbinger. Jack has oftentimes seen that the quality of leadership in-place seems to be the single-biggest factor in forecasting how well this leadership program is received.
Jasper County Sheriff, Randee Kaiser, hosted the event. Sheriff Kaiser has referred to his experience with Arbinger’s approach as “life changing”. As you can see from the photo below, Sheriff Kaiser embodies the Arbinger attitude. Once the class was complete, Sheriff Kaiser grabbed the vacuum and cleaned up after his command staff had left the room. “He is a key reason Arbinger CORE will be embraced and take traction in the Jasper County Sherrif’s Office.” said Jack.
Sheriff Kaiser’s most recent boss and mentor (before his election as sheriff) was Chief Greg Dagnan of the Carthage Missouri Police Department, who also introduced class co-instructor, Chief Deputy Tim Wilson, to the Arbinger methodology.
The Chief, Sheriff and Chief Deputy are “out of the box” leaders who are courageous enough to take on real issues head on, but humble enough to have care and concern for others. This is what gives CORE traction.

Leadership & Self-Deception Hits the One Million Mark
Published in 2000, Arbinger’s first book, Leadership & Self-Deception, quickly became a word-of-mouth phenomenon. Unlike other business books that follow current trends and, as a consequence, peak and fade, sales of Leadership and Self-Deception consistently have increased year after year since its publication.
Told in an easy to read narrative style, its message has found a ready audience in leaders in business, government, law enforcement, military, and the social sector. Through a story about a man facing challenges at work and at home, the book reveals in a compellingly logical way the process by which we unwittingly create and make worse the very problems we think we are trying to solve.
Leadership and Self-Deception has not only had a remarkable reception in the United States. Translated into twenty-seven languages to date, Leadership and Self-Deception has a truly global readership and was a number one seller in books in Japan three months running.
Leadership and Self-Deception has released a second edition that includes a section which draws on Arbinger’s extensive experience helping organizations transform their cultures and improve results. Pick up the latest edition to read more as readers share some of the many ways they have used Leadership and Self-deception to improve their lives and workplaces.
